What becomes of “Farmville” without Flash

Berlin (dpa / tmn) – Game developer Zynga announced the end of its Facebook game success “Farmville” on December 31, 2020. Because the online game, in which a virtual farm has to be built and maintained, is programmed with Adobe’s web platform Flash.

And since Adobe is discontinuing Flash support for all browsers on New Year’s Eve 2020, Facebook is also retiring all Flash games on this date.

According to the information, players can buy so-called farm cash, which can be used to buy animals or objects, until November 17th. Farm cash credit should then have been used in full by December 31st. Because Zynga excludes reimbursement.

Farmville started in 2009 and is the most widely played game on Facebook in places. There are now different parts of “Farmville 2” that can still be played in the browser or are available as an app. Zynga has now also announced “Farmville 3” and is also using mobile devices as a platform.
