If you have an electric car, you should know that as of this Wednesday, July 1st, free charging at public charging points (PCN) has ended.
This is a measure that was announced in May by the electric mobility manager Mobi.E, and which ends with no charge at charging stations in this network.
“On July 1, 2020, the Mobi.E network transitional period ends, with the payment of the charges starting at the normal public access charging points”, read in the statement from Mobi.E.

How to pay at these charging stations from July 1st
From now on, drivers who want to use these charging stations will have to purchase an access card to the electric mobility network. These are issued by Electricity Suppliers for Electric Mobility (CEME).
“The full market phase that is now beginning is configured as the last step towards the realization of the Portuguese model of electric mobility”, reiterates the manager in her statement.
It should be recalled that fast charging stations and chargers in private spaces were already charged since November 1, 2018 and April 1, 2019, respectively. This is another step in a network that is increasingly being established in our country.
