Donkey Kong Country arrives this month on Nintendo Switch Online

Success created in 1994 one of the games that will be available from July 15th; Switch Online to give users access to 85 classic games

Nintendo announced on Tuesday (7) the batch of new retr games that will be available on the Switch Online service. The big highlight is the Donkey Kong Country, originally released in 1994 for Super NES. The games will be available from July 15th.

In the game, the title gorilla and his nephew, Diddy Kong, explore jungles and snowy mountains to retrieve the bananas stolen by King K. Rool and his Kremlings. This was the second best-selling game in the history of the Super Nintendo, with nine million copies.

In addition to Donkey Kong Country, Natsume Championship Wrestling and The Immortal will be added. The Japanese wrestling game was also originally released for Super NES in 1994, and offers 12 fighters to play alone or with a second player. The Immortal of 1990 was made available for NES and puts the player on an exploration mission in ancient runes.

With these additions, Switch Online will give users access to 85 classic games. Among the titles are Super Mario Kart, Super Mario World, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island and The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past. The service has three subscription plans: one month in duration and costing R $ 14.80; three months and R $ 29.70; and lasts for one year, for R $ 74.25.

Switch Arcade

The great advantage of Nintendo Switch to other consoles is the hybrid factor: it can be played both as a laptop and connected to a TV. And now, a project launched at Indiegogo wants to turn it into a small arcade too.

The SwitchFighter has boats like the Street Fighter arcades, for example, and an opening for the Switch to be docked and function as a screen.

What about games? Well, the console has already received a series of adaptations from arcade classics, being possible to play titles from Capcom (like Street Fighter) and SNK (King of Fighters). If you don’t like playing with conventional controls so much, SwitchFighter offers the option of using arcade controls.
