The technology giant Microsoft released an application on Monday, known as Windows File Recovery, which allows users of your Windows 10 computer operating system recover deleted files or lost data from their hard drives.
As explained by Microsoft on the application page, the app is aimed at people who delete important files by mistake even from the Windows Trash, they lost information or had problems with corrupt data.
Windows File Recovery includes support for recovering different file extensions from images, documents and videos. These include MP3, MP4, PDF, JPEG, and Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents, but not files stored in the cloud.
Likewise, it is not only possible to access deleted files in the computer memory again, but also to recover deleted data from hard drives, cameras and SD storage cards.
Windows File Recovery. The app to recover deleted files from PC is now available to all users.
As explained from Microsoft support, the Windows file system creates a free memory space when the user deletes a file, so that it is still possible to recover it. However, the use of the computer creates new files that can occupy this space, so it is important to use the recovery tool as soon as possible.
In addition, the Microsoft application works both for devices with NTFS, the file system used by Windows, and for those that use other storage technologies (FAT, exFAT and ReFS).
Windows File Recovery uses a specific command line to recover files, and is available for free download and is compatible with Windows 10 in versions 19041 and newer.
