Microsoft ends production of two Xbox One models

Xbox One X and model without disc input in the most produced sero; Xbox Series X coming in the coming months

Even without confirming the release date of the new Xbox Series X, Microsoft has stepped up and stopped production of two of the Xbox One models. As of now, only the Xbox One S produced and sold by Microsof, at least until the arrival from the new console to the market.

In a statement to The Verge, a Microsoft representative confirmed that the company “took the natural step of ending production on the Xbox One X and Xbox One S All-Digital Edition.”

Thus, the most powerful console today and the entry version without a disc player are no longer produced in factories. However, retailers with units in stock can still sell the products.

In the meantime, the Xbox One S will continue to be manufactured and sold worldwide. It should maintain the console’s legacy even after the launch of the Xbox Series X

The next generation of Xbox

Microsoft will show Xbox Series X games on Thursday next week (23). Although detailed information about the launch of the console is not expected, the end of production of the old models indicates that the new Xbox is very close.

Microsoft’s strategy for the next generation has been proving quite interesting. The company has confirmed that it will continue to launch new games for the Xbox One in the coming years, and as part of the Smart Delivery program, the main titles of the Series X will run on the old consoles.

Thus, the Xbox One S should be the entry model for the world of Xbox as a whole, with games of the new generation (with lower graphics quality) and old games from all Microsoft consoles.

The cutting-edge version is the Xbox Series X. And, according to rumors, an intermediary called Lockhart internally will also be launched. It would replace Xbox One X, running all Series X games (with lower graphics quality) and previous Xbox games.

In addition to the aggressive strategy with three hardware options with similar libraries, Microsoft will also increase the bet on services such as the Game Pass. The company confirmed that Game Pass Ultimate will offer access to the xCloud cloud gaming service when it launches in September.
