Sega’s new console is a miniature arcade cabinet

Astro City Mini have 36 company arcade games, among them Virtua Fighter and Golden Ax: The Revenge of Death Adder

Sega continues to bet on nostalgia. After the Mega Drive Mini and Game Gear Micro, its next console is the Astro City Mini, a miniature version of one of the company’s most famous arcade cabinets, which will come equipped with 36 games from various eras.


10 of the games have already been announced. Only they sawrtua Fighter, Fantasy Zone, Golden Ax, Golden Ax: The Revenge of Death Adder, Alienstorm, Alien Syndrome, Columns II, Dark Edge, Puzzle & Action: Tant-R and Altered Beast.

One of the highlights Golden Ax: The Revenge of Death Adder, also known as “Golden Ax 2”, although this title belonged to a different game on Mega Drive. Released in 1992 for the System 32 arcade card, Sega’s first 32-bit system, the game never had a domestic version for any console.

According to Sega, the console measures 6.7 cm wide and 15 cm deep, and uses joysticks and buttons that are miniaturized versions of the same controls as a real Astro City case. The Astro City Mini come with HDMI cable and USB cable

The console will hit stores in Japan in December and cost around $ 120. Sega will sell, as an option, a gamepad with six boats for US $ 26 (R $ 140). There is still no information about an international launch.
