Sony announced a line of TVs with the “Ready for PlayStation 5” label. The two divisions of the Japanese company, televisions and video games, which strangely never worked together, will join for the first time for the new generation of consoles.
The first TVs with the certification are the LED models XH90 4K HDR Full Array and ZH8 8K HDR Full Array LED1, which have a resolution of up to 4K at 120 fps with an input lag of 7.2ms for PS5 games. The second TV has a resolution of 8K, but it is not yet supported by the video game.
As a differentiator from other Sony lines, TVs with the seal will have a game mode that reduces latency and can be connected together with the console using only the DualSense wireless controller. The models still have what Sony calls Acoustic Multi-Audio technology, which uses the positioning of the speakers to direct the sound effects according to what is happening on the screen.
According to Sony, the “Ready for PlayStation 5” campaign will extend to other premium TVs from other brands. The PlayStation 5 will be released by the end of the year in two versions: a traditional one with a disc player, and one without an optical drive, compatible only with digital games. Neither version has been announced as of now.
