Tiago Leifert leaves, Gustavo Villani enters

After eight editions of “FIFA”, journalist and presenter Tiago Leifert left the narration of the EA Sports football game and replaced Gustavo Villani. The professional, who is also part of Grupo Globo, is the fifth speaker in the history of the franchise in Brazil, which had names like Milton Leite, Eder Luiz and Nivaldo Prieto.

“a transformative point in my career as a narrator. ‘FIFA’ gives me different opportunities: to communicate with those who still do not necessarily follow the daily life of football, but are gamers – children in particular. Or to talk to fans at the same time are gamers, of any age “, commented Villani.

“FIFA 21” brings yet another novelty: for the first time, having a third participant in the matches broadcast. The reporter played by Andr Sauer will interact with Villani to bring the results of the other games of the round. Sauer, actor and voice actor, has already lent his voice to characters like Jon Snow (Game of Thrones) and Chandler (Friends). The hiring of voice actors does not indicate in the “FIFA” in Portuguese – Orlando Viggiani and Antnio Moreno already interpreted commentators in the game.

Altogether, “FIFA 21” had 527 hours of recording – the highest number in the history of the franchise in Brazil. S Villani produced 67,000 audio files, including more than 2,000 variations of his goal scream. The recordings began in May 2019 and lasted for 15 months. The only pause happened at the birth of the narrator’s daughter, Isabela. Even during the pandemic, the stadiums were disinfected before each session, and necessary safety measures, such as wearing masks and social distance, were applied.

“First of all, we would like to thank Tiago for all his dedication, passion and brilliant work done in his eight years as a ‘FIFA’ narrator. His professional relationship with Electronic Arts ends in the best possible way, and the relationship as a player will certainly continue “said Daniel Perassolli, Portuguese Specialist in Brazil in the Electronic Arts localization team in Madrid.

“FIFA 21” will be released on October 9, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via Origin and Steam.
