The Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro has the best rear cameras on the market. The equipment reached 124 points in the DxOMark tests, which places it in the third place in the overall ranking today. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of your front camera.
It achieved a modest rating, by 2020 standards, of 83 points. DxOMark considers it a “middle of the table” position at the level of a Samsung Galaxy A71 or iPhone XS Max (launched in 2018).
To get a sense, the leader of this ranking – Huawei P40 Pro – reached 108 points. In the field of photography, DxoMark claims that the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro suffers from limited dynamic range, unnatural hair tones in low light, and image noise in any light condition
On the positive side, the exposure on the faces, the wide field of view or the good detail in good light conditions are praised. In the video, it also has good details with light, wide field of view and good exposure of faces both outdoors and indoors.
On the negative side, it is said that the video from the front camera is about poor stabilization, with “gelatin effect”. The exposure is unstable, and skin tones are unnatural in low light.
DxoMark says that this will be a device that will not disappoint you if you just want to take occasional selfies for social media. But if the rear cameras of the Mi 10 Pro are the best you can find on the market, the same cannot be said of its front camera.
