Xiaomi’s POCO sub-brand will launch a new smartphone called POCO M2 Pro. However, this will not be a new device. This is because you already know it on the market as the Redmi Note 9 Pro.
Therefore, we can conclude that this should not be a terminal with the Portuguese market in mind. Instead, another puzzle piece in the Indian market.
Xiaomi POCO M2 Pro specifications
- 6.67 “inch screen
- FullHD resolution
- Hole in screen for front camera
- Biometric sensor on the side
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor
- 6GB and 8GB of RAM
- 64GB and 128GB of internal memory
- 48MP + 8MP + 5MP + 2MP main cameras
- 16MP front camera
- 5020 mAh battery
- 33W fast charging
Looking at the specifications, we have good equipment here. Mainly for the value that it is expected to reach the market. Although there is no official information on this situation, it is expected that the mobile phone will come with a price of around 250 €.
Differences for the Redmi Note 9 Pro
The terminal will be basically the same. Or so we hope. In the design we will have a change of logo and possibly new colors. Regarding the specifications, POCO will have a variant of 8GB of RAM and the load will be 33W instead of the 30W of Redmi. That is, basically the same equipment.
As I mentioned above, since we already have the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro for sale in our market, this should be a device that will not arrive in Portugal officially. Even so, Xiaomi knows how to surprise us and I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if it reached the official Xiaomi stores in our country.
In short, I can’t be happy to see a brand I like (Xiaomi) making its sub-brands less relevant. We have good equipment, fantastic features and attractive prices. However, I expected a little more originality. Or they may well merge the sub-brands and it’s done!
